Below are a few notes on some of the boats Roger has built.
Roger Fuller started building boats in the Summer of 1985. The first boat ANNA was 37ft in length and fitted with back cabin and Lister HR2. HECTOR followed, at 50ft long, being powered by a Lister FR6. HECTOR still has the original 54 BHP water cooled engine. FETTLER was the first boat built with a fore cabin, and is also a one off, in that the hull is completely curved along the length. LEOPARD was built at 50ft, and later lengthened to 70ft, and fitted with a 9HP Bolinder single cylinder semi diesel. STALWART; a classic 60ft BCN tug, fitted with a Gardner 3L2 diesel. St.CHRISTOPHER is now called MILLICENT ANNIE, and is moored on the Shropshire Union Canal, RN powered. The boat moored above Hoo Mill Lock is number 11, intended name DOROTHY, and originally fitted with a JP4. FRED 2 a boat that is 90 % animal and 10% mineral; not to be missed on a river. ARABIA was fitted out by the late Chris Lloyd, and Kelvin powered. AZALEA still owned by the company; originally JP2 powered, and now transformed by a Gardner 4LW. ALICE is the only Roger Fuller built boat in Scotland; hello Karen and Chris! BASCOTE is based at Newbury, and paired with the FMC butty GOSPORT. GROWLER was built as a yard tug, and sports a Lister HA6; 72 horses in a 20ft boat. SNIPE was built for the Inland Waterway Cruising Company as a replacement for the Cowburn & Cowpar motor boat of the same name. PROWLER is owned by Aquagem Waterway Services, as is regularly used on dredging contract work during the Winter months. At 18 ft long, she is powered by a Lister JP4. BORDER REIVER always looks immaculate, and the owners are regulars to the boat gatherings throughout the Midlands. BRUIZER is a boatman's boat with a lovely fit out, and powered by a Lister HA3. BURMA has the honour to have the very last Gardner engine ever made by the Gardner company in Manchester. ALLIGATOR uses a name originally allocated to a Josher by Yarwoods of Northwich. She is Lister JP2 powered and is based on the Leicester section. HADAR you will hear coming; with a very distinctive engine beat; that of a National DA2, a rare engine. More information, and photos will be added soon.
